The Village Gallery
Established in 1864 and purchased by New York State in 1870, this is the oldest Fish Hatchery in New York State and the Western Hemisphere. The hatchery is run by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and, the hatchery rears brown trout and rainbow trout. Annual production is approximately 170,000 pounds. When the days are sunny and crisp it’s a wonderful place for the whole family. Feed the fish or take a hike around the grounds. There is even a picnic table for a leisurely lunch. The friendly DEC staff will happily answer all your questions.
