Experience the beauty of the refuge at dusk during a special Native-led sunset walk along Feeder Road at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge with our Seneca Elder and Naturalist, Marve Jacobs. As the sun begins to set over the wetlands, participants will have the opportunity to slow down, connect with the landscape, and experience the natural world through stories, perspectives, and teachings shared during the walk.
Together, we’ll explore the plants, wildlife, and changing evening sounds of the refuge while reflecting on the deep cultural and ecological connections tied to the land and waterways of Western New York. Birds calling across the marsh, frogs beginning their evening chorus, and the colors of sunset over the wetlands create a peaceful setting for this meaningful outdoor experience.
This walk is open to all and welcomes anyone interested in nature, culture, and spending time outdoors in community. Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
