Alexander Museum Open House
Step inside history at a one-of-a-kind landmark
Explore the only known three-story cobblestone building in North America originally built for educational purposes—and the only one still used as a Town Hall. Located in the heart of Alexander, NY, this historic site offers a unique look at the town’s rich past.
Founded in 1802 by Alexander Rea, who purchased 28.1 acres for just $56.20, the town has grown from its pioneer roots into a community full of character. The museum showcases that journey with hands-on exhibits featuring vintage phones, record players, typewriters, and tools that bring daily life from generations past into vivid focus.
Whether you're a history buff, a local explorer, or just curious, the Alexander Museum Open House is a chance to experience small-town heritage up close.
