Scarecrow Contest

SCARECROW CONTEST GUIDELINES:

• The Scarecrow contest is open to all individuals, businesses, and organizations. To participate, all entrants must fill out the registration form below and turn it in at the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce by October 10th.

• Entrants must construct a scarecrow and attach it to a post on the David A. Howe Library lawn between October 6th -11th. Please include a laminated sign with your name/group/business and category you are entering on your scarecrow. The Lions Club will provide the posts in the lawn as a starting point to hang your scarecrow. It is recommended that you keep your scarecrow under 6 feet in height.
• No religious, political, or explicit content is allowed. We reserve the right to disqualify distasteful entries. If you are uncertain, feel free to contact the Wellsville Chamber with questions.
• Please be advised that no security will be available to protect the scarecrows. Entrants are solely responsible for the safety and security of their scarecrows. The Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for any loss or damage to entries.
• Voting: The community are the judges! Ballots and ballot boxes will be available at the Chamber of Commerce and the David A. Howe Library from October 11-29th. Categories include,” Best Traditional,” “Most Creative,” and “Best Youth (16 & under).”
• Winners will be announced on October 31st. The winners will be awarded $50 in Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce gift certificates.
• Entrants are responsible for taking down their scarecrows by November 6th.
