Simply Christmas at The Cobblestone Museum
When
Celebrate the start of the Christmas season at the Cobblestone Museum on Saturday, Dec. 6, with a day full of festive shopping and musical entertainment.
Holiday Shoppe – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Museum’s Holiday Shoppe will be open for its annual Open House, featuring a wide array of holiday items perfect for gifts or decorating. Shoppers can browse Christmas books, ornaments, mugs, wreaths, snowmen, Santa and angel décor, wrapping supplies, lights, and more.
In addition to the Museum’s collection, Susan Walders will offer handmade knitted and crocheted items, ideal for gifts or keeping warm during the winter season. All proceeds from the Holiday Shoppe benefit the Cobblestone Society and Museum.
Community members are invited to donate gently used or new holiday items to support the Museum’s displays. To arrange a donation drop-off, call (585) 589-9013 or email volunteers@cobblestonemuseum.org.
Holiday Program – 11 a.m.
The festive day continues with a special program organized by Cobblestone board member and treasurer Maarit Vaga, titled “Simply Christmas: A Community Musical Quilt”, at the Cobblestone Church. This 45-minute performance combines instrumental music, vocal performances, and audience sing-alongs. Highlights include:
-
A Spanish Renaissance Christmas madrigal, Riu, Riu, Chiu, performed by Susan Walders, Aaron Grabowski, and Brandeen and Sebastian Erakare
-
Christmas readings by Jan-Mikael Erakare
-
Performances by three former interns: John Patt (violin), Casey Starkweather (vocals), and Eliya Cooper (clarinet and flute duet with Walders)
-
A display of quilts by renowned quilter Brenda Radzinski
A free-will offering will be accepted, and light refreshments will be served in the lower level of the church following the program.
Come for the shopping, stay for the music, and enjoy a festive day at the Cobblestone Museum as the community welcomes the holiday season!
