For ovenware, Mayco suggests placing the ware in a cold oven, allowing it to warm gradually as the oven preheats. After use, stoneware can be safely removed from a hot oven and left to cool to room temperature. Avoid extreme temperature changes (freezer to oven, oven to freezer) to prevent thermal shock within the clay body and glaze.
