Some race tracks are built with concrete and steel.
Others are built with memories.

Labor Day Weekend 2027, the Unlimited All-Stars are coming home to the hills of Western New York for the UAS Grand National at John Layfield’s Allegany Memorial Speedway in Wellsville, NY.

And this isn’t just another stop on the schedule.

This place has racing in its blood.

Long before NASCAR became a household name, the Layfield family was turning laps on dirt and asphalt. Dean Layfield — a Wellsville native — lined up against some of the biggest names in early stock car racing: Lee Petty, Fireball Roberts, Buck Baker, Curtis Turner, Joe Weatherly, and the legends who built the foundation of American motorsports.

Dean’s story was one of thousands that helped create NASCAR.

But unlike so many names lost in the history books… his story never disappeared.

Because in 2004, John Layfield built something special.
A little dirt oval along Route 417.

A place where kids could learn the fundamentals of racing.

A place where families could gather.

A place where the names of the pioneers would never be forgotten.

Allegany Memorial Speedway isn’t just a race track. It’s a living memorial to the people who built this sport.
And that’s what makes it the perfect home for the Unlimited All-Stars.

For more than 35 years, UAS has celebrated the same things that built grassroots racing: ingenuity, competition, camaraderie, and the belief that the next great racer can come from anywhere.

Because before there are champions…

Before there are bright lights and big stages…

There is a short track.

There is a family.

There is a dream.

In 2027, the best Unlimited All-Stars racers from across the country will descend on Wellsville, New York, to chase the biggest prize in unlimited kart racing and write the next chapter in a story that started generations ago.

The dirt remembers. The legends are still here. And Labor Day Weekend 2027, Allegany Memorial Speedway will welcome the next generation of racers ready to make history.
