History & Legacy

Byrncliff Golf Resort was founded in 1967 by Clifford Meidenbauer, who was captivated by the natural beauty of Wyoming County, NY. He envisioned a golf course where both novices and professionals could enjoy the game. After establishing Byrncliff, he and his family worked tirelessly to offer exceptional service with a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Today, three generations of the Meidenbauer family continue to operate Byrncliff, with Clifford's son Scott's legacy still a cornerstone of the business. Clifford’s wife Patty, daughter Lindsay, and son-in-law Brian are committed to growing Byrncliff for future generations of outdoor adventurers.
