Founded in 1934 on a hillside farm in Bennington, Merle Maple LLC is a fourth-generation maple farm producing high-quality pure maple syrup and a wide variety of maple-based gourmet products. With over 23,000 taps, Merle Maple has evolved from humble bucket collection to cutting-edge tubing systems, all while keeping their family tradition alive.

Visitors can shop their extensive line of products—from maple syrup and maple candy to maple BBQ sauce, dog biscuits, and more—right at the farm store or online. Locals and travelers alike rave about the flavors, with something sweet (or savory) for every taste.

Their store is open year-round Monday thru Friday from 9am to 5pm.

The Maple Weekends Experience
During the last two weekends of March every year, Merle Maple hosts the beloved Maple Weekends experience. Visitors can tour the sugarhouse, ride a wagon into the sugarbush, shoot an air cannon, pet a calf, and enjoy a maple-themed menu including maple BBQ pulled pork, maple hot dogs, iced maple cappuccinos, and homemade desserts. It’s a delicious, family-friendly tradition that draws people from near and far. 

Local Pride, Global Perspective
Don’t miss the striking sculpture on the front lawn—a life-size “world cow” with countries outlined on her spots, a nod to the international significance of maple production. The sculpture also features a maple tree and chicken, reflecting the diverse roots of the Merle farm, which once included dairy and egg production.

Merle Maple is proud to partner with local icons like Yancey’s Fancy, whose Maple Bacon Cheese features Merle’s own syrup. Their commitment to the region—and to producing something truly sweet—is evident in everything they do.
