Historic downtown Albion on the Erie Canal is the County seat with an 1858 Greek Revival style domed county courthouse surrounded by the 34 architecturally significant structures. Albion boasts an impressive 65 structures listed in the New York State & National Registers of Historic Places. The village comes alive in mid-June with their annual Strawberry Festival extending from the Erie Canal to Courthouse Square. The village hosts weekly free concerts on the canal Thursday evenings in the summer.
