Letchworth State Park is referred as the “Grand Canyon of the East,” due to its 600-foot deep gorge that features three major waterfalls. The views from high above the gorge are simply stunning. Hikers, horseback riders and bicyclists can choose among 66 miles of trails. Letchworth offers nature, history, a performing arts program, guided nature walks and a summer lecture series. The historic Glen Iris Inn is an exquisite place for overnight guests that also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in their dining room.

Imagine floating in a hot air balloon over the breathtaking scenery of this magnificent park.

From every May to October, Balloons Over Letchworth State Park offers a thrill of a lifetime.

Passengers launch near the Glen Iris Inn and float over Letchworth’s spectacular waterfalls and canyon with an experienced FAA licensed pilot.

This adventure is very unique, as Balloons Over Letchworth is the only company allowed to launch out of the state park.

Outdoor Inclusivity for EVERYONE in Letchworth State Park

Making its debut in 2021, the Autism Nature Trail at Letchworth State Park is a one-of-a-kind experience designed specifically for those with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. The ADA-compliant one-mile trail loop features eight stations that offer a range of experiences from quiet engagement to active exploration. The autism trail is the only of its kind in the United States and makes the majestic Letchworth State Park accessible for everyone.

Experience Nature & Peaceful Solitude

In North Java, NY, the Beaver Meadow Audubon Center offers an enlightening encounter with natural history education and outdoor recreation opportunities. Visitors can hike over eight miles of nature trails through woods and wetlands.

An 8,000 square-foot Visitor Center and exhibits are open six days a week. The center includes a children’s discovery room, nature and animal exhibits, wildlife observation windows and a gift shop.

Carlton Hill: WyCo's Hidden Gem!

Hikers and tent campers revel in the many outdoor opportunities offered at Carlton Hill Multiple Use Area in Dale, NY.

The area is comprised of 2,484-acres abandoned farmland and forests, making it the home to numerous kinds of wildlife. Several trails allow hikers, horse riders, and bicyclists ways to traverse the countryside.

Anglers like to drop their fishing poles into Little Tonawanda Creek, with the hope of pulling in a brown trout.  Carlton Hill’s trails are easily accessible via numerous parking areas.

Just a stone’s throw away from Letchworth State Park is Silver Lake State Park, which offers multiple chances to enjoy the waters of Silver Lake. The 776-acre park provides a boat launch facility for boating and fishing on the lake. The park is also a great spot for a relaxing lakeside picnic.

Located in nearby Perry, Endlessly Outdoors Company offers education classes on outdoor recreation, products and knowledge of the local area. This is a great spot for beginners to rent gear to kayak Silver Lake and learn the tricks and tactics of having a lifetime full of open-air adventures.
